RED BALL – Quickstart Ages 3-6

Red Ball 1 Ages 3 &4
17 & 19 Inch Racquets are used with Red Balls.

Red Ball 2 Ages 5 &6
19 & 21 Inch Racquets are used with Red Balls.

Both classes are a great introduction to tennis, teaching all the fundamentals of tennis in a FUN, play-based environment. Our Red Ball Program focuses on improving motor skills and coordination as well as introducing basic tennis techniques.

Through games and activities, players will learn movement, throwing, catching, tracking, and ball striking. Tennis technique will be taught prioritizing correct grips and swing technique for forehands, backhands, and volleys. Classes are taught on a modified, 36 ‘ X 18’ court

Our pathway for skill development includes red and orange ball usage.

ORANGE BALL – Quickstart Ages 6-8

21-23-inch* racquets are used with an orange ball that is lower compression that travels a little faster and farther than the red ball.  Students are taught proper technique for all strokes-focusing on groundstroke development, net play and serving.  We will also start to incorporate footwork and beginning level of basic strategy – how to keep score and rally (playing points).

GREEN BALL – Junior Development Ages 9-10

25-26-inch* racquets are used.  The green ball has less pressure than the standard yellow ball (75% pressure) and easier to hit.  This stage is for students that can rally, place the ball with intention, volley and beginning to understand strategy and tactics.
Regulation size tennis court.

YELLOW-JUNIOR EXCELLENCE AGES 10-18

2 levels offered:

JUNIOR EXCELLENCE DEVELOPMENT AGES 10-18

New player that has no or limited tennis experience and needs explanation of technique for all strokes, drills to reinforce new technique and on court experience with getting ball into play.
A new player that has no or limited tennis experience and needs an explanation of technique for all strokes, drills to reinforce new technique, and on-court experience with getting the ball into play ​​​​​​​26-27-inch* racquets. This class combines drills with competitive play-action games. We have a 15-minute warm-up and then stroke development (technique) for the first 45 minutes and then move to 45 minutes of competitive game-based play. Its design is for competitive players, ages 11 and up, JV and Varsity players. The play-action game-based games combine competitive play with team camaraderie and team building.

JUNIOR EXCELLENCE PERFORMANCE AGES 10-18 

Our performance program is designed for middle & high school players preparing for JV and Varsity tennis teams. This class is not for beginners. All players in this class must have past playing experience. Yellow ball will be used. *Our pathway to success with this group includes green and yellow ball usage. Both classes focus on continued stroke development and competitive/fun game-based play. Emphasis on developing better players through drills, game-based play with proper court positioning, and shot selection within a high cardio dynamic.

Our pathway for skill development includes green and yellow ball usage for the junior excellence development program and yellow ball for the performance program.
